Looking Back: Combined Dry Run

To all SAF members who contributed to Sat's Combined Dry Run:

A very big thank you to one and all!

The dry run yesterday went awesomely well - give yourselves a pat on the back okay! Personally, when the whole thing started, I was super worried. Because teachers were supervising, OGLs from other CCAs are participating, and they definitely had some expectations that we needed to meet; plus I felt the club was not ready just yet - I mean, seeing from our last dry run, there was a considerable amount of flaws here and there, new stations yet to be tested, instructions still not clear enough, etc. Remember, we had a significant number of absentees too, putting a further strain on our manpower. But as the OGLs moved from one station to another and i followed after, it turns out there was actually little to worry about. There was a great display of initiative, teamwork and self-discipline by each and everyone of you guys present yesterday, and whoa, I'm really seriously uber satisfied with the outcome - I'm so proud of you guys!

In fact, based on feedback from our House Councillor in charge, our dry run was the smoothest flowing one amongst the 3 CCAs doing the event. I quote:

"My teacher was rather satisfied with SAF. In my opinion, it was the most well prepared so far, with the least hiccups. Keep up the good work and dont slack!"

and these goes on to show that,
YES, we can improve. we have initiative. we can work as a family.

Let's work together and raise the reputation of the SAF - continue the work of our seniors, we shall rise! Let's make the SAF devoid of anything related to slacking - as you can see from the above quote, our House Councillor has reminded us not to to slack. Its just weird how connections are drawn between us and slacking. We're not slackers, and we shall show them all!

Keep up the good work people: persevere, endure, and soon, together as a family, we shall make the SAF the very CCA that everyone wished they could've been in. A CCA that we and our future generations of SAF juniors will be proud to be associated with.

Success to our Mission: Fun. Fitness. Family.
SAF, WHOOSH, PEOPLE.

Before I end this post, here are the pictures I took during the dry run:

Activity Forecast for This Week

Dear All,

The supposed dates of the dry run collaboration with the House Council have been rescheduled to take place on 20/01/10 Wednesday, and 23/01/10 Saturday, in a bid to avoid affecting your course of preparation for the examinations. Please take note of the following details for the dry runs:

20/01/10 WEDNESDAY
Initially, Individual NAPFA Standard Evaluation was planned for this week's training. With the dry run, slight changes are expected to take place. Instead of doing everything on the same day, we will be doing the 2.4km run first - stations will be evaluated on the next training. The programme will be as follows:

1530 HRS: Club members to report in gym in PE or Jersey attire; administration
1535 HRS: Proceed to track, warm up led by Training Heads
1540 HRS: Run commences
1600 HRS: Run ends, cool down led by Training Heads
1605 HRS: Members to proceed to respective orientation stations for dry run evaluation
1615 HRS: House Council to start evaluation
1715 HRS: Dry Run evaluation ends; Club sports games to commence
1755 HRS: Club sports games to end, break
1800 HRS: Debrief @ Gym; Subsidy Refund by Rena; Dismissal

Training Heads, Timothy and Amira, please work together to come up with a system to record the time of each member's run for the period 1540 - 1600 HRS; avoid planning on day itself, because the appointment with the House Councillor in charge will be at 1615 sharp, and we want to minimise time delays.

Sport Head Rena, please plan for the club sports activity for this week's training (ultimate frizbee, touch rugby? anything.) and make neccesary arrangements for logistics loan from PE department via Logistics Ben Poo. Note that should the dry run evaluation need to take more time, the sports game still go as planned, and the Debrief @ Gym etc. will be extended to maximum 1830HRS.

This will be the first dry run supervised by the HC, so lets give them a good show alright! Things to take note of:
GYM: PEEK A MUSCLE - Tim, please cover up muscle training guide on ALL GYM EQUIPMENT. simulate actual run.
ALL OTHERS: Please come up with questions and be prepared, I DO NOT EXPECT IMPROMPTU WORK.

For those who have done up your Instructions, good job, utilise it. Other than that, EXCOs, if you do not have instructions, please refer to the Orientation Proposal - SAF v2.4.1 in the gmail account. I have written out verbal instructions which you can use to your advantage on the day itself.

I hope this timeline will make our trainings more efficient, so Excos, do your allocated job well. Members, please cooperate, and be appreciative of your Excos work of brilliance. Let us be *password to blog*!

23/01/10 SATURDAY
*note, timeline planned by House Council - your poor president has no jurisdiction
ATTIRE: SAF JERSEY ATTIRE
0800 HRS: Assemble at Gym, Settle Logisitcs, Proceed to Stations
0900 HRS: Dry Run to commence at 0900 SHARP - they emphasised it in their email to me, so please don't play play
1030 HRS: ODAC Dry Run (NOB)
1200 HRS: Lunch Break (NOB)
1300 HRS: YA Dry Run (NOB)
1430 HRS: AOB (MOB)

NOB: Not Our Business; AOB: Any Other Business; MOB: Maybe Our Business

But don't fret, indicated by their email to me once again, AFTER OUR DRY RUN, we are free to go. so cheers, you still have an entire day to celebrate post MSA1s... Yipee.

Okay, AOB, or clarifications, please contact your respective Comm Heads or Excos. Excos, if you do have clarifications, you know who to contact - duh, of course me.

On a last note, ALL THE BEST FOR MSAs! WE MUST BE *password to blog*!

CHEERS,

Your President

Club '10 Jerseys

Hey guys, it's Colleen here riding on the glory of our juniors ha ha ha.

Anyways, some of us went back on Open House on Wednesday and spotted them in their new club jerseys, which we thought was pretty nice. A few of us are keen on getting them so I thought we'd ask the entire club, so you guys can get it if you wish.

Below are the pictures of the jersey.

Sam's wearing a size M, and Rena's wearing a size XS.
The XS is actually too small for her, so she's more of an S size. They both wear the same sizes for the PE tee so the assumption here is that the jersey goes by the same sizing.

The tee costs $18.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, please get back to me by Monday 18th Jan, with these details
1. Name on tee
2. Number on tee
3. Size

Text me at 91293534, or email me at colleenhuang@hotmail.com.
Do note that numbers are on first come first serve! Ha ha like kiasu only.
And, I'll only be ordering if I get the payment in!
Meaning, transfer me the money so I can pay the juniors to get it for us. Most probably, we'll leave it in the school after the tee is done, so everyone can just head down to collect 'em when we're free.

That's about it! Thank you so much & please spread the word!

Colleen
